The Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) Thursday sent the list of the 395 South Korean delegates to the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games to the Sydney Organising Committee for Olympic Games (SOCOG). The Korean delegates are made up of 113 officials and 282 players.
Korea aims to finish within the top ten countries in overall medal standings by competing in 23 events out of the total 28. The five events Korea will not compete in are equestrian sport, softball, modern pentathlon, triathlon and canoeing.
The list for soccer, baseball, cycling and mountain biking may be partially revised later.
Meanwhile, the Korean delegation will send an advance team led by Yoon Kang-Ro, deputy secretary general in charge of international affairs at the KOC, to Sydney on August 29. The main squad will leave for the Olympic venue, led by team manager Lee Sang-Chul, on September 8.
