High Quality Overseas Human Resources Return to Korea

A lot of high quality human resources in US, Europe etc come back to Korea again.

As large- sized Koran companies began to recruit human resources overseas, salary & personnel systems become internationalized after IMF and overseas employment conditions becomes worse, many Korean international students and overseas Koreans began to show the intention to work for domestic companies.

Park Jin-kwan, Personnel Manager of LG Electronics, visited overseas four times for recruitment commented at 3rd “ when we have recruitment seminar in famous universities such as MIT. Harvard, Prinston etc, twice of Korean international students and residing abroad than last year attended”

This is the reason why large-sized domestic companies compete for the recruitment.

Samsung group has international recruitment staffs residing abroad and presidents manage to recruit core human resources directly. In case of LG, 6 subsidies chemical, electronics, card etc composed ‘Recruitment Team for overseas High Quality Human Resources” and opens seminars in Us, Russia, India, etc. Posco will increase to recruit overseas human resources from 36 in this year to 70 in the next year. Hyundai Motors has a plan to recruit 100- 200 persons.

The recruiting fields become diversified in engineering, finance, management, marketing etc.

SK Group increase human resources studied MBA of developed management to search for new business model. Stock companies and insurances companies began to employ overseas human resources as the business becomes internationalized.

Lee Byung-kun (38), 1.5 generation of Korean residing in US, executive of Samsung Life, commented “ in previous I thought that if I work for a Korean company for a few year, I can’t return to developed country again, but I can keep international sensitive as working for a Korean company and it is an opportunity to experience diversity”

Kim Han-suk, the president of a head hunting company, IBK Consulting, commented “ these days, in the society of the second generation of Korean residing abroad such as US Europe etc, a fever of s6uding Korean began, so the return of overseas high quality human resources will maintain a few years more”
