Lee Jung-hoo breaks out with three hits

Lee Jung-hoo delivered his first three-hit game of the season, leading the San Francisco Giants to a 9-3 win over San Diego on April 1.

Starting in right field and batting sixth, Lee went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs. The outing marked his first multi-hit performance of the season in his fifth game.

He made an immediate impact in the first inning. With two outs and runners on second and third, Lee drove a two-run double off San Diego starter German Marquez, sending the ball to the right-field wall.

Lee added another extra-base hit in the fifth, lining a double down the right-field line against Kyle Hart, who pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization last season. He completed his three-hit performance in the ninth with a soft single that dropped in front of the left fielder. After opening the season 1-for-13 for a .077 average, Lee raised his batting average to .222 with an OPS of .689.

San Francisco’s offense produced 16 hits, with every starter contributing at least one. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak and extended the Giants’ winning streak to two games.
