Leading modern art collections owned by the Amore Pacific Museum of Art in Yongsan, Seoul have been unveiled for the first time on Thursday. As the first special exhibition of its collections since the museum opened, "APMA Chapter One- From the APMA Collection" is featuring more than 40 pieces of modern artworks, such as “The Secret Sharer” by Korean contemporary sculpture and installation artist Lee Bul and "LOVE" sculpture by American pop artist Robert Indiana.
With a wide range of genres including paintings, photography, sculptures and media art, the exhibition has eight exhibit rooms at several locations such as the first floor of the Amore Pacific headquarters and the museum lobby. The LOVE sculpture is the same edition to the one installed on the 55th street in Manhattan, New York City, and Lee Bul’s artworks are the first to be unveiled at an art museum in Korea.
Visitors can download the APMA guide app to listen to audio tours recorded by the museum’s curators. It also offers high-definition image, information on the art work and link search features, as well as an art catalogue on the first floor of the exhibition at apLAP. Information on programs related to the exhibition can be found at the museum’s website at apma.amorepacific.com. The exhibition will be open until May 19.
