Global sensation BTS serves as the honorary tourism ambassador of Seoul City. The Seoul Metropolitan Government promotes the appeals of the city with their seven honorary ambassadors across the globe.
The city government said on Sunday that seven advertising clips will be released one by one starting from this Monday, where seven members of BTS promote what Seoul can have to offer while introducing tourist attractions in the city. Ads are to be displayed not only on TV but also on major social networking services including YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. The first release is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday on the city’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/user/visitseoul). After each of the ads is made public, a roundup version is to be released at 10:00 a.m. on Oct. 29.
The seven advertising videos are produced under the slogan of “Live Seoul like I do.” BTS members recommend sightseeing places on the so-called “My Seoul playlist” with seven themes for each of them. Each of the seven members appears on each of the seven ads including ‘Delicious Seoul’ that introduces food culture, “Relaxing Seoul” that describes resting spaces for strolling, and “Fashionable Seoul” that suggests fashion culture.
Seoul City plans to hold an online event to garner overseas visitors. To join the event, choose four out of the 21 video clips on the city’s official tourism information website (www.visitseoul.net), and put a hashtag of “#myseoulplaylist” on each of them to share them on social networking services. Only foreigners who live outside Korea can participate. Hotel vouchers and online gift cards are to be sent to 123 participants who are randomly chosen. You can download BTS-featured wallpapers for PC screens and mobile phones for free on the website.
