Hyundai Motor has unveiled its first interior and exterior impression of the upcoming compact SUV All-New Tucson (photo) on Wednesday, which will premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland on March 3 (local time). The images released are designs for the European market, and official debut for Korean market will be made next month.
The All-New Tucson is the third generation model that Hyundai introduces in six years since its last one in 2009. At the front, the headlamps are naturally connected to the hexagonal grille at the center and the front bumper loaded with LED daytime running light, rendering the appearance of outstretched wings. Sleek character line is applied to the side, and rear taillights give the spacious impression from side to side. Human factors and ergonomics are applied for interior design.
By applying Hyundais design philosophy of Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 (design concept that gives the impression of running water), audacious yet sophisticated design impression has been created, explained the company.
On the same day, Kia Motors also revealed the exterior design of its wagon concept car Sportspace ahead of the Geneva show. Featuring strong power performance and spacious interior with practical load space, the Sportspace is a grand tourer wagon (high performance car capable of long-distance driving). The design bears Kias distinctive tiger-nose radiator grille up front and sleek character lines are enhanced to the sides.
From the stylish and exciting impression to a high level of comfort with sporty look, the Sportspace is targeted for consumers who dont want to compromise any of the factors, said Gregory Guillaume, chief designer at Kia Europe Design Center.
