KB Stars has taken an upturn at the last minute and became the spring season`s dark horse. It grabbed six straight wins entering this year, and also beat Woori for three straight games. Even Shinhan that is considered Woori`s biggest rival has failed to show such performance. KB showed 3-3 overall against confronting teams, showing off a robust record to compete with Woori. Shinhan was sluggish in its game with Woori this season with two wins and four losses. To defending champion Woori, KB is a tougher team than Shinhan.

The fight for No. 2 rank is also fierce between Shinhan and KB that wants to take the most of their home advantage at the playoff. The playoff is competition between the second and third place teams at the regular league, with the team that grabs two wins among three games winning. The first and third games are played at the home stadium of the second place team.

KB has been catching up speedily from round four, and is now behind Shinhan by two games. However, Shinhan has been wavering, recording three wins and two losses in its five latest games. The two consecutive games that the two teams will play on upcoming Saturday and Sunday will be the biggest competition for the No. 2 ranking.
