At a New Year’s press conference to be held on Jan. 12 at Chunchugwan of press hall in the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae, President Park Geun-hye plans to unveil her ideas on how to revamp the management of national affairs including Cabinet reshuffle. Her public statement which will be announced prior to the press conference is also known to include the plan to refurbish her state management. On Jan. 11, sources from Cheong Wa Dae said that “There have been growing demands on management overhaul for state administration due to “memogate scandal of Jeong Yun-hoe” and the unprecedented case of insubordination made by Kim Yeong-han, former senior presidential secretary for civil affairs”, adding that “President Park will not give the impression that she is standing against the public. She is likely to present a big picture for the management reform of national affairs before she is taking questions from reporters.

It is also said that President Park will spare much time in unveiling her ideas on how to push forward with a 3-year Economic Innovation Plan and ways to make practical progress in relations between the two Koreas. Additionally, Park is expected to explain her ideas on pending issues such as inter-Korean Summit Meeting and special parole for entrepreneurs.

A day earlier, President Park immediately accepted the resignation of the former senior presidential secretary for civil affairs who disobeyed the order of Chief Presidential Secretary Kim Ki-chun, rejecting to attend the Steering Committee of the National Assembly and expressing his intention to resign.
