The Mongolian Cabinet holds a meeting at Gashuunii Khooloi, a sand valley south of the Gobi Desert and about 670 kilometers from the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar. Twelve ministers stayed under the scorching sun for an hour wearing a cap reading “Save Our Planet” to stress the urgency of fighting climate change and attract global attention. Gashuunii Khooloi is a symbolic place showing the impact of climate change in Mongolia, as it used to grow many edible plants five years ago. Sand dunes have since taken up more space as seen in the photo.
