The Korea Communications Standards Commission held a general meeting on Wednesday to review possible illegalities in some of the postings on certain online communities and on Internet portal Daums popular discussion forum Agora. The postings allegedly made threats against advertisers in three of the countrys major dailies.
Nine commission council members deliberated to make a ruling on allegations of defamation, unlawful obstruction of business activities and infringement of the Communication Network Law in relation to 80 postings on Daum, but could not reach a conclusion, choosing to defer their decision until the commissions next general meeting on Tuesday.
The commission discussed the matter earlier on June 19 at its communications subcommittee, but could not decide whether to delete the contentious postings. It did, however, decide to temporarily block problematic postings.
