Lee Rules out Favors for Transition Team Members

President-elect Lee Myung-bak on Saturday warned public officials assigned to the presidential transitional committee that it would be a mistake for them to think that their involvement in the team would help them secure their positions in government offices in the future.

“Without gaining any advantage, they will have to suffer for a couple of months. Perhaps only those patriotic enough and willing to lend a hand in opening a new era will not suffer,” Lee said at the committee`s first workshop in Seoul.

“I hope (the dispatched public officials) will understand that it will not be possible for (anyone) to receive a guarantee of maintaining their social status,” Lee added.
