“Korean Troops Are Not Combat Troops”

Kim Yeong-sik (left), head of the department of overseas deployment at the Ministry of National Defense, is having an interview with Al Jazeera, the largest Arabic News Channel in the Middle East, at the Defense Ministry building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Kim called for safe return of 23 Koreans kidnapped by the Taliban, saying, “The Korean troops deployed in Afghanistan are not combat troops but engineering troops for medical services and reconstruction.”
