Kim Loses Again at Home

Florida Marlins pitcher Byung-hyun Kim has not gotten over his home game weakness.

Since his move to the Marlins from the Rockies in May, Kim has not won any of his five home games. He has lost two games and recorded an ERA of 6.23 in total.

He started the Marlins home game against the St. Louis Cardinals yesterday. To our disappointment, he gave up 5 runs on two home runs and six hits and lost the game. Thus, he has a record of 4 wins and five losses, and a 5.18 ERA.

Kim is the only Korean national who plays in the Major Leagues. Other Koreans, such as Chan Ho Park and Jae Seo, have been demoted to the Minor Leagues. We are expecting his first post-All Star Game win in the next game.

He failed to command the ball well. He pitched 112 balls, and only 57 of them were strikes.

Kim set a dishonorable season record in the game. Despite his four strikeouts, he allowed seven walks, which dealt a fatal blow to Kim. He repeatedly allowed hits after walks.

Marlin batters also performed poorly. The Marlins recorded only four hits until the end of the 6th inning. Once in the second, when the Cardinals were leading 2-0, the Marlines tied the game with one hit and one sacrifice fly. Otherwise, they were silent.

Kim hit a double in the fifth. But his poor performance on the mound overshadowed his double.
