Lotte World in Seoul reopened Lotte World Chapter 2 last Sunday about 170 days after it announced a temporary closedown at the beginning of the year. The amusement park is the world largest indoor theme park boasting 18 years of history. With 10 billion won worth of renovations, Lotte World is open to its fans again with a fresh interior: all the plaster on the ceiling has been replaced with aluminum. In addition, the adventure land added some new attractions such as a musical, laser show, interactive shooting game and a 3D horror theater. Dong-A takes its readers inside the brand new Lotte World.
Sunlight poured in through the glass ceiling as if to defy the monsoon season. The abundant sunlight made visitors forget that they were indoors. The ceiling and walls once a matter of concern for both Lotte and the public were covered in small aluminum blocks with colors that resemble a pale sky. The first impression of the new Lotte World can be summed up in two words fresh and neat.
All the facilities were repainted contributing to the overall fairytale fantasy atmosphere. Some of the most notable changes involved shows and parades. The Garden Stage was transformed into a large performance stage where 1,200 visitors can enjoy themselves with the new musical Lottys Space Adventure, featuring Lotte World characters. The musical is simply splendid and worth every penny of the four billion won production cost. The Galaxy Adventure is another must-see at Lotte World Chapter 2, which features a battle between Zeus and a titan in the form of a laser show with special sound and light effects.
There is more, including the indoor sound system. Equipped with a surround system (1,200 speakers and 130 amplifiers) that cover the entire area of the indoor adventure park, Lotte World is free from excessive noise and reverberations. Satellite speakers installed every corner deliver clear voices and sounds. The new material covering the ceiling also contributed to the sound enhancement. The aluminum blocks remove noise by capturing it through a hole (35 percent of the total surface) on the surface and absorbing it with special material inside.
The new Lotte World is expected to bring more fun to Seoul citizens nightlives since anyone can enjoy the parade, laser shows and musicals after 7 p.m. with only 7,000 won. The theme park also introduced a Moonlight ticket that covers entrance fee and three rides for 13,000 won. Lotte World is open everyday until 11 p.m. Nearby Lotte World, Hotel Lotte World offers 30 character rooms (four people) full of Lotte World character decorations inside.
