A crowd of black-tailed gulls fly in a group. Hongdo Island, an uninhabited island in Hansan-myeon, Tongyeong, is home to the birds. The birds visit the island to lay eggs via the southern and eastern coasts and leave the island after their job is complete around August. Approximately 50,000 black-tailed gulls are estimated to stay on the island as the number has rapidly increased since access to the island was limited to preserve it. The Tongyeong Marine Guard assisted with the news coverage.
