In the Korean and Japanese women’s professional golf tours, ‘successive wins’ are the talk of the town.

The buzz is over Ji Eun-hee (Callaway) and Jeon Mi-jeong (Tour Stage), who have won consecutive tour victories.

Ji Eun-hee is aiming for her third straight win in the 21st Korean Women’s Open scheduled to start on May 18, at The Honors Country Club (par 72) in Gyeongju. Ever since Pak Se-ri and Kim Mi-hyun set their consecutive tour win streak marks in 1996 and 1997 respectively, no other golfers have managed to equal their streaks for the past 10 years.

In the first round, Ji will compete in the same group with Park Hee-young (Isu Construction), who has been the runner-up for the last two weeks.

Jeon Mi-jeong, playing in the Japan, will challenge for her fourth successive win in the Chukyo TV/Bridgestone Open, which is set to open on May 18 at the Chukyo Country Club (par 72) in Aichi Prefecture. She has won three out of seven tournaments held this season, and is currently topping the money list with 575.52 million yen. She is recording a scoring average of 71.1 and putts per GIR (greens in regulation) of 1.74, taking the lead in both categories.
