Lee Ho-seok (21, Kyung Hee University) and Jeong Eun-ju (19, Korea National Sport University), two blossoming Korean short-track skaters, won double gold medals in the 6th World Cup Short Track, an event of the International Skating Union yesterday.
In the finals of the 1,000m competition held in Budapest, Hungary, on February 12, Lee won a second gold medal following the gold medal he won in the 1,500m race the previous day by crossing the finish line with a time of 128"623. Lee outpaced Charles Hamelin (Canada, 1`28"666) with three more rounds to go and never gave up the lead after that.
Jeong, who won a gold medal in the 1,500 meter competition the previous day, won another gold medal with a record of 1`34"536 in the 1,000m finals.
