We Have Liftoff

The space shuttle Discovery, which was launched at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral of Florida, U.S. on December 9, makes a picturesque orbit as it flies off into space. This picture was taken with an open shutter at the nearby Daytona Beach. This is the first time NASA has launched a space shuttle at night since the Endeavour four years ago in November, 2002.
