Yim Holds Off Sorenstam for LPGA Win

How are you feeling right now?-

“I am so happy. It’s a whole new feeling for me, and it’s quite hard to believe. I was so nervous that my hands were shaking. I told myself to ‘just keep making pars,’ and that was what I did.”

You faced off with Sorenstam, the world’s greatest golfer.-

“I was curious to know how she would play. I am a fan of Sorenstam myself. She is a great player. She just wasn’t lucky today.”

That was quite a fast ball you threw into the gallery after winning the match. Did you see the people ducking?-

“I am so sorry. I’m not a very good pitcher. I sometimes miss the caddy completely when I toss the ball to him.

You’ve just beaten Annika Sorenstam, Karrie Webb, and Christy Kerr. If you add up all their career wins, it totals 104 wins.-

“That many wins? Then I guess I’ll have to win 103 more times starting from now. I still can’t believe I beat such players.”

How big of an inspiration was Pak Se-ri to you?-

“All young Korean golfers learn from Pak’s success. I am no different. I even have a picture of her on a wall at my home.”
