Reports tell of how North Korean authorities continue to pour an astronomical amount of budget money into defense and continuing their nuclear program, while the malnutrition problems of that country’s children and pregnant women are becoming more serious by the minute. The United Nation`s Children`s Fund, UNICEF, and the World Food Programme (WFP) held a joint press conference on March 7 in Beijing, China to report that the state of malnutrition of pregnant women in North Korea has worsened compared to two years ago, leaving one-third of all newborn children under six months of age without enough milk. The picture is of children having lunch at a care center at Yeomju-gun in Pyonganbuk-do that was released by WFP.
