“You Cannot be a Stewardess if You Don’t Know How to Swim”

Female applicants for stewardesses are being tested in the underground swimming pool located in the main office building of Asiana Airlines at Ohsoi-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul yesterday. The Asiana Airlines included the ability to swim back and forth in a 25-meter-long swimming pool without a time limit into the mandatory physical ability tests from this recruitment, saying, “The ability to save the lives of passengers when a plane submerges under the sea is necessary.” Korean Airlines is also testing the swimming ability of female applicants since this spring’s recruitment.
