The prosecutor has caught a domestic violence organization, which has smuggled drugs with the Mafia in the United States, and began investigating into the details.

“The violence organization has become corporation-like,” said Song Kwang-Soo, the prosecutor-general, at the press conference. He added, “Now we have even encountered one similar to a real estate company.” He expressed his concerns, saying, “I was told today that a domestic violence organization has begun dealing drugs with the Mafia in the United States. It is important to crack down on these organizations before the problem becomes too big for the authorities to handle.”

It is the first time for the prosecutor to report about a domestic violence organization which allegedly deals drugs with the Mafia in the United States.

Prosecutor-general Song stated that intensive efforts would be made to suppress organizational crimes from now on. He added, “We are still in the middle of the investigation and cooperating with the police to structure a common-workforce.”

Jo Young-Gon, director at the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office, said that they haven’t acquired any evidence but had a firm belief that a domestic violence organization has traded drugs with the Mafia.

“We have suppressed civil wrongdoers and organizational violence since June 11 of last year, and we will keep up with stronger efforts to face these crimes with the aid of other institutions such as the Internal Revenue Service and the Immigration Bureau,” Director Jo said.

The prosecutor announced that the number of domestic violence organizations comes to 148 nationwide and that 300 major agents of the organization are under thorough surveillance.
