Arafat Declares a State of Emergency

Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat (right) held a meeting with international peace activists on Sunday at an office in the west coast city Ramallah, and pledged his struggles against suicide bombers. Following the attack in Syria by Israel, Arafat declared a state of emergency the same day and composed an emergency cabinet of eight members.
