Seo Jae-ung first mentioned Lee Myong-soo after he finished his game on August 22nd hitting the consecutive 7th winning streak.
Myong-soo is the name of a Korean child getting treatment at a hospital in New York for his leukemia. Seo first got to know about him through the paper in New York and then visited him personally to wish for his rapid recovery. They promised to meet again next time, only to fail to do so. He passed away on August 20th.
Seo grieving over his death promised that he would bring a victory to Myung-soo before he went to the mound on 22nd. And he made it.
Coming first on the ground, he was attacked by 6 hits for the sixth innings, but did not allow any more hits achieving a grand victory. His only missing ball was at the second and third base in the fourth inning due to his colleague Skutaro`s slip. Seo showed a remarkable pitching skill through his unique control of the ball.
Seo said, My condition was not that good. But I could pitch with comfort mindset since I earned three points at the first inning. Mets also helped his performance by hitting three-point and two-point home runs early in the game. Mets won his counterpart this day by five to one. Mets with the return of Jupo Mike Piazza had to give up its dream of entering the post-seasonal games, but it showed a good performance of 7 winnings only with two defeats.
Seo has been in a slump since the fifth winning in Florida on June 18th could get out of his slump after having a game with Colorado Rockets and kept this spirit on to the San Diego. He will challenge the 8th winning against Atlanta Braves, the strongest team in the National League, on August 28th.
Another Korean baseball player Kim Byung-hyun of Boston Red Socks appeared at the 9th inning at its game with Oakland Athletics allowing no hits.
