Pro soccer specialists believe the soccer fever in Daejun originated from a former Russian Korean national soccer team coach.
Daejun coach Choi Yoon-kyum learned under his supervision. He is believed to be representing his teacher`s style perfectly, which features accurate passing.
Taking the helm of the Daejun this season, Choi has reorganized his team`s formation to 4-3-3.
In addition, to overcome the small pool of players, Choi puts in the lineup the best players of his team for home games, while using the pool to capacity for away games. Due to this strategy, the Daejun has not lost any home games. Until now, the team has won all of the six home games.
But the winning streak may be threatened today. It will take on the Woolsan Hyundai at home. The Woolsan has not lost any of the past six games.
"The Woolsan concentrates more on defense. But when chances come, it swiftly attacks the opponent," said Choi. He continued, "I will pay more attention to the play we will show to the fans than the victory itself."
The game will take place at the Deajun World Cup stadium, where the South Korean national soccer team beat Italy and secured, for the first time in history, a ticket to the quarterfinal. Coincidentally, the date of the match is the same. The club will give 50% discount to any soccer fans wearing in red, a symbol of the Red Devils.
Kim Nam-il, who was dismissed from his Dutch team, will make his comeback debut today against Kwangjoo, and Buchun SK will take on Chunbook Hyundai Mobis to mark up the first win in 14 games.
