Three people, including a couple in their 70s, who had received about 4.4 billion won for compensation for their lands were murdered by a blunt weapon and the couple`s grandson, a high school student was attacked. The incident is under investigation by the police at this point.
At about 10:50 p.m., November 27, Yeom (76, eye doctor), Yoon(70, wife) and Yoon`s elder sister(76) were found dead at the Yeom`s house.
Yeom`s third son (39, office worker) called the police at about 10:45 p.m., as his parents didn`t respond his call. The police discovered the dead bodies. The incident seems to have occurred at the Yeom`s house located at second floor of his ophthalmic hospital. Yeom and his wife were found at grandson`s room and Yoon`s elder sister was discovered before the room being dead and bleeding from their heads. One broken baseball bat, presumably used for the crime, was found inside the room.
Yeom shut up his hospital three years ago and has lived with his wife and grandson (19, third year, Pyongtaek Highschool) and it was known that Yoon`s elder sister living in Seoul visited them a few days before the incident. Meanwhile, the grandson was hit on his head and seriously injured by an unknown man at about 7:25 p.m. on that day, and is under treatment at Hanyang Hospital, Seoul.
The grandson, who was near Pyongtaek Market at about 6:00 p.m., had a call from a man who said that he was going to have dinner with the grandfather. The boy said that he took the man`s car to go to an vacant land near C garden, Wongok-myon, Ansung, 30 minutes away from his school and was knocked out being hit by dull weapons on his heads and other body parts.
The police revealed that two nearby agricultural cooperative association branch clerks withdrew three hundred and million won from Yeom`s account at the request of him, and delivered the money to him putting 180 hundred and million won and 120 hundred million won each in two paper boxes.
Inside Yeom`s safe, however, 40 million equivalent money and goods including 17 million won cash, yens, dollars and gold bullions were left.
The police suspects that as three hundred and million won was not found yet, and Yeom received 4,498 million won from Gyeonggi Local Corporation for compensation of Gondo-district residential developing lands, the criminal should be acquainted with the family. The policy is searching mid-30s man, 175 cm tall and with short hair, and investigating remaining families in regard to grudges on them and fortunes of the families.
Eldest son of Yeom was divorced in 1995 and currently under treatment at a mental clinic located in Osan, and second son of him (44, eye doctor) lives in Seoul.
