Chung`s party appointed Yu Chang-sun, former prime minister as the chairman of the preparatory committee at the rally attended by 1000 promoters. After establishing more than 23 local chapters across the nation, the preparatory committee plans to complete the creation of a new party late this month.

In a speech, Chung said that he is committed to bringing revolutionary changes to the Korean politics. He called for national unity, abolition of one-man dominated politics, introduction of parliamentary democracy, establishment of the foundations for the peaceful reunification of the Koreas, as well as the eradication of corruption.

Chairman Yu of the preparatory committee said that the national integrity is a irreversible trend and appealed to make Korea`s politics into one that gives people dreams and hopes.
