[Opinion] Mr. President, Mr. Vice-President

The aspect of GNP seems to be badly distressed.

It tries to blow `adverse wind` to confront `Roh Wind` of candidate Roh Moo-Hyun, by imitating MDP, however the situation is not easy.

The primary for presidential candidate is not attracting any interest.

The primary of GNP is likely to proceed without difficulty, if we see the positive side.

However, if we see closely, it fuels suspicion that this primary is only for one person.

There are complaints of contestants for primary that it is too much for chiefs in districts to make a row for a particular runner.

There is one runner who speaks `violent word` that open poll through inspection was carried out in Incheon, where the primary was held for the first time.

Nevertheless, contestants for primary do not show desire to fight seriously.

How can they bring about severe dispute calling `Mr. President`, Mr. Vice- president` at debate places where the flame should be ignited?

If the rank in the party is made mentally no matter how fair primary is prepared, it means other runners participate by getting defeated by one step.

Are people interested in the game, which is likely to confirm the grade internally?

If we see the rule for primary that GNP formed, it is difficult to ignite fire in primary.

It controls contestants not to contact members of party and visit districts.

They can only distribute pamphlets and present their opinion at meeting places for primary on the day.

GNP says that it is for hosting clean primary and preventing money election and mobilized election.

GNP orders them to control speech about `Lee Hoi Chang`s, former President of GNP, defeat in major elections`.

Thereby, there is no place for the contestants to campaign and no speech.

They are saying `gentle words` and `polite words` through press interviews in Seoul.

As one runner said it is like `primary in the nest`.

It is really ¡°No¡° for voters.

Why is there primary of party? Is this to make a form for particular candidate? If it were so, Incheon primary succeeded as 80% of votes were for candidate Lee Hoi-Chang.

However, such success is the success of candidate Lee Hoi-Chang within the party.

It is not to be connected with the support of voters directly, despite securing absolute support within the party.

The purpose of primary in the party is to let those who are going to be candidate for major elections be verified by showing to the people in advance.

If voters, who verify them, avoid them, there is no reason to continue primary.

The reason why primary of MDP succeeded is because the atmosphere to attract interest of voters was formed.

One side displays ideology like the left or the right and the other side respond, saying `plotting theory` and ` colorist`, however such disputes is not wasting.

It awakens interest in politics, by not only verifying the contestants.

The primary of GNP, in fact, lacks dramatization, which is quite different to primary of MDP.

Candidate Lee Hoi-Chang has his basic group by being in charge of the party; therefore, if the trend is like this, there is less possibility to change the top runner.

And the range of disputes among candidates is also narrow than MDP.

Most of them have been in the ruling party together in the past, therefore, even if they argue on policy matters, there is no remarkable difference.

Although they criticize the achievements of candidate Lee Hoi- Chang, only members of GNP are interested as it is the matter of party.

It is heard by general voters like someone else`s matter.

What should GNP do?

If it leads primary by making rank for particular candidate and others to help only, the primary will never enlive.

The place where there is no guests is of no use.

It should arrange atmosphere for contestants to have severe competion for verification, under the premise that presidential candidate of party can be not only candidate Lee Hoi-chang but also others.

I don`t advise to fight hand to hand.

It means to have primary, which is like real primary and GNP should arrange the primary to do so, it can attract voters.

To enliven `primary` is urgent.

Candidate Lee Hoi-chang side should think differently, too.

It should not try sticking to vested rights.

Candidate Lee Hoi-chang can get first grade in primary without specific efforts, however, what is the use to become presidential candidate of GNP by getting first grade if there is no competitive power in final elections.

GNP seemingly presumes that `Roh Wind` would not go for long.

Is `Roh Wind` like their guess really?

GNP should judge the way now as to where are they heading.
