President of GNP, Lee Hoi-Chang plans to announce a new council on 26th, as vice- president group of the party announced their resignation collectively and president group meeting is broken.
Spokesperson Nam Gyeong- pill stated on 25th, “ council will discuss usual party affairs ”and “President Lee is thinking about measures to disentangle internal situation of the party, apart from it”.
8 vice- presidents such as Choi Byeong-Ryeol, Park Hee-Tae, Yong Jeong-Gyu, etc,
resigned from their current designation, saying at president group meeting on 25th, “we withdrew from the party as we feel responsible for the recent internal rift within the party and in order to let President Lee disentangle the situation”.
On this, President Lee said, “the onus of responsibility lies entirely on me” and “I am not attached to something, and I hope that we can see what people want, by pouring our heart out”.
On the other hand, regional chairmen meeting of The Youth Network For The Future, urged in a declaration, saying, “ we welcome this move as their collective resignation is start of the effort for party reformation”and, “ however, those who caused conflict in party, posing as close members, should give up vested interests so that reformation of the party can be advanced”.
