Large Scale Korea-U.S. Joint Military Operation

Posted March. 01, 2002 10:28,

A large scale Korea-U.S. joint military operation participated by the allied forces of Korea and the U.S. will be carried out in Korea during 21st - 17th.

This military operation has combined the separated military operations and therefore the scale of this operation is dramatically expanded. Many U.S. soldiers in the U.S., Japan, and Guam will join in this operation. Therefore, a strong protest of the North is expected.

Mg. Gen. Jeffrey Miller said, “we decided to perform the separated operations together for this year. The Korean Military and the U.S. Military will participate in the combined military operation RSOI/FE 2002 from 21st to 27th.”

RSOI is the military operation to improve and evaluate the operational capability to move the military forces and devices to the front from the overseas and FE is the mobilizing operation to prepare for the operation against the North`s Special Military Forces. Generally, 500,000 troops of the Korea-U.S. Allied Force including 30,000 U.S. armies participate in the FE operation.

The General Headquarters of the Allied Forces proposed to have a meeting to deliver the plan for the military operation but the North rejected the dialogue saying “we don`t have to receive such thing.”
