Darim Vision, a venture business in Daejeon, exaggerated its sales through fraud sales and actively lobbied through the tax organization when it had to go through a tax audit last year.
The Special Investigation bureau of the Daejeon District Prosecution (chief prosecutor Lee Chung-Ho) said that Mr. Kim Young-Dae, the president of Darim Vision, seemed to lobby in various way to escape from taxation on the 2.9 billion won of fraud sales with venture company H in Incheon from the end of 1999 to 2000. The Prosecution will request for a warrant for search and seizure soon to investigate the allegations and will summon the involved persons.
In addition, an e-mail requesting that problems of tax investigation be solved, which an executive member of Darim Vision sent to president Kim who was visiting the U.S. in August last year, was released. The e-mail reads "Please make a phone call to the superintendent of the West Daejeon Revenue Office to solve the tax problem (of the fraud sales with company H). It should be done before the tax collectors` vacation. After you call the superintendent, I will go to see him."
A week after, the tax investigation in Darim Vision was completed by imposing 55 million won for additional collection.
Regarding the case, the Daejeon Revenue Office prepared to conduct a re-investigation on the process of the tax probe.
