American pro-baseball’s Arizona Diamond Backs’ Kim Byong Hyon (22) pushed the team to world number one with double digit saves over two years. Playing against the Atlanta Braves in Atlanta’s Turner Field on August 12, Kim Byong Hyon made two strikeouts in the first inning, with no base hits or runs, securing a 3-1 win.
With 3-3 and 10 saves this season, and 6-6 and 14 saves last season, Kim made double digit saves over two consecutive years. The average run decreased 2.92 and drew near `-3` for 100 strikeouts.
Stepping on the mound with a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the 9th, Kim forced Ken Kamini and Andrew Johns to successively miss their swings and easily took care of Havi Lopez’s hit over second base in the 10th. Arizona recorded 65-51 after the win, moving ahead of the LA Dodgers, who lost to the Philadelphia Philies by half a game, into the 1st spot in the Western Division.
