Kim Un-Yong officially declares candidacy for IOC presidency

Kim Un-Yong, chairman of the Korea Sports Council and executive member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), declared officially that he will run in the upcoming election to become the 8th IOC president.

At a press conference held in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on Tuesday, Kim said that he was running for the post in order to correct the excessive commercialism he sees as plaguing the IOC.
