Arrest warrant for ex-Daewoo chief issued

The Supreme Public Prosecutor`s Office obtained an arrest warrant Tuesday for former Daewoo Group Chairman Kim Woo-Choong, now in hiding overseas, in connection with a fraud investigation at the bankrupt conglomerate.

The prosecution plans to launch a joint investigation with Interpol this week aimed at locating Kim. If he were found, authorities would request that he be returned to Korea.

Kim is thought to be weaving through Europe and African countries including France, Germany, Morocco and Sudan.
