A ranking official of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) allegedly intervened on behalf of MCI Korea chairman Jin Seung-Hyun, the main culprit in a loan scam involving Yeollin Mutual Savings and Finance, to influence the prosecution in the course of its investigations into Jin's irregularities. Jin is hiding inside a small submarine (Yeollin Mutual Savings and Finance, which has the same spelling with ¡°Open Safe¡± in Korean).
