New millennium's first National Foundation Day

The first national foundation day, or "Gaecheonjeol," of the new millennium is celebrated by native rites and folk art performances at Wangsan, Gangneung-si,, Gangwon Province, Monday. The special events were organized by the Gaecheon Wangsan Committee for the Promotion of International Culture and Arts Festivals. The location is considered the center of Baekdu Mountain Range, the sacred spine of the Korean Peninsula.
