[Sydney 2000] Ian Thorpe expecting five gold medals

Ian Soft,18, a swimming star from Olympic host country Australia, has been in the spotlight since even before the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympics.

Ian is now heating up the Olympics games with his performance as expected.He set the new world record in 400m freestyle and relay swimming September 16. He is also expecting a gold medal in 200m freestyle swimming with a new Olympics record Sept. 17. He plans to compete in the 100m freestyle and 800m relay swimming for a total of five gold medals.
