2002 World Cup program finalized

Korea is the top seed for D group, Japan the top seed for H group.

The official competition program for the 2002 World Cup has been confirmed.

FIFA, Korea and Japan each submitted their program proposals in May and after discussions have agreed on the final program.

Joint hosts, Korea and Japan, were given the top seeds for the D group and H group, respectively. Hence, Korea will play its first game in Busan at 8:30 pm on June 4, the second game in Daegu at 3:30 pm on June 10 and the 3rd game in Incheon at 8:30 pm on June 14. Japan`s first game will be at 6:00 pm on June 4 in Saitama, with the second and third games being played on the 9th (Yokohama, 8:30 pm) and 14th (Osaka, 3:30 pm), respectively.

The opening game will be held at Seoul`s Sangam Stadium at 8:30 pm on May 31, while the final game will be played at Yokohama Stadium at 8:00 pm on June 30.
