N.K. orchestra arrives in Seoul today

North Korea`s state-funded orchestra arrived in Seoul on Friday via Koryo Air for a joint concert with South Korea¡¯s KBS orchestra.

It is the first time that a North Korean orchestra has visited the South since the cease-fire that ended the Korean War in 1953.

The troupe will perform at KBS Hall in Yoido at 7:30 p.m. on August 20. On August 21, it will hold solo concerts at the Seoul Arts Center at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. For the evening concerts of August 21 and 22, which will be held at 7 p.m., it will be performing again with the KBS Orchestra, soprano Jo Su-Mi and Cellist Chang Hanna.

The evening concert on August 21 will be open to the public. The Chosun National Orchestra will return to Pyongyang August 24. after a day-long city tour and a meeting with KBS President Park Kwon-Sang.
