The North Korean Central News Agency criticized main opposition Grand National Party resident Lee Hoi-Chang for his keynote speech delivered July 6 at the National Assembly plenary session, saying that his remarks were reckless and void of insight.
The news agency contended that Lee of the GNP attempted to damage the authority of the orth`s supreme revolution leadership, by criticizing his remarks that the April 8 North-South agreement for elections was exploited and the exchange of the ex-North Korean prisoners in the South for the South Korean kidnapees in the North should be made on the principle of reciprocity.
Thus, Lee tried to put brake on the implementation of the inter-Koran summit declaration in June and stirred up confrontation between the two Koreas, the agency.
Noting that the inter-Korean Red Cross talks have been successfully conducted as the preliminary step for implementation of the inter-Korean accord, the news agency asserted that Pyongyang will sternly deal with Lee`s "criminal activity" hampered the national task.
The GNP leader, Lee, has maintained a critical posture toward the Kim Dae-jung government`s pro-North Korean policy, stressing that the funds needed for aid to the North should be provided through transparent procedure and calling for the legislation of a special law in this regard.
