Exports of semiconductors to reach US$25 billion

Boosted by hikes in semiconductor chip prices, the nation¡¯s chip exports for this year are projected to amount to US$25 billion, said Korea Semiconductor Industry Association. In a report on ¡®Semiconductor prices and export-import trends,¡¯ the industrial body forecast that this year¡¯s chip exports would see a gain of 23.2% from US$20.2 billion registered last year.

According to the report, semiconductor exports during the January-May period of this year recorded US$9.5 billion, up 25.0% from US$7.6 of the previous year.
