Torrential rains are expected at the end of the rainy season of the year, which showed a typical form of dry rainy spell, due to unstable atmosphere and frequent typhoons.
The Meteorological Administration said Sunday that Typhoon Kaitak, located at some 60km southeast of Taiwan as of 3 p.m., is moving north at the speed of 31 km per hour and is expected to arrive at the sea some 400km southwest of Cheju City at about 3 p.m., Monday.
Weathermen said that a warning against typhoon would be posted early Monday morning on the sea south of the nation, asking for ships sailing nearby to take preventive measures.
Affected by the typhoon and rain clouds accompanying it, the entire nation is expected to have rain, starting at Cheju-do, July 11 and 12. On July 13, it will rain only in Kangwon-do Province, the weathermen said.
