Hyundai Heavy Industries has won a supply deal for power stations in Indonesia worth 50 billion U.S. dollars. The company announced on Wednesday that it recently won a contract from Indonesian state power company in a consortium with Indonesia’s PT Truba Jaya Engineering to construct in-land engine power plant of 86MW in total.
The South Korean shipbuilder will supply 21 units of 4.1MW “Himsen Engine” power generators and other related equipment. The Indonesian firm will handle procurement and installation process. Himsen Engine, a medium-sized engine that was solely developed by Hyundai Heavy Industry, is used for the propulsion of ships and generators. In particular, diesel and natural gas can be used selectively according to the situation, meaning that it emits less harmful gases than other general engines.
The power generators will be installed consecutively from September to March next year in seven power plants across Indonesia.
