LG’s 360-degree camera certified by Google Street View
The LG 360 Cam (pictured), a new smartphone camera unveiled by LG Electronics at the 2016 Mobile World Congress in February, has been officially certified to connect to the Google Street View, a global map service provided by Google. LG 360 Cam is a 360-degree rotating camera capable of taking pictures or recording videos for virtual reality (VR).

Thanks to the accreditation, users can upload raw images or movies that they recorded with the LG 360 into the Google Street View app without converting the files. Google is planning to introduce the LG 360 Cam as Google-certified on its Google Street View website and on the app (application).

“The LG 360 Cam that can capture 16 million pixel images will be a great selection for consumers wishing to enjoy various 360 degree contents,” said Charles Armstrong, the product manager of Google Street View. “Our strategic alliance with the Google Street View will allow our users to create contents more easily and share them freely,” explained Kim Hong-joo, head of product planning at LG Mobile Communications Company.
