Dick Cheney defends CIA interrogation tactics against suspected terrorists

Former Vice President Dick Cheney who led the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in the wake of the 9/11 attacks in 2001 on Sunday continued his fierce defense of the CIA, saying, “The CIA’s investigative tactics against suspected terrorists are not torture.” He said in NBC’s Meet The Press, “I would do it (enhanced interrogation tactics) again in a minute."

"Torture is what the al Qaeda terrorists did to 3,000 Americans on 9/11," Cheney said. "There is no comparison between that and what we did with respect to enhanced interrogation." He added, "We`ve avoided another mass casualty attack against the United States. And we did capture Bin Laden. We did capture an awful lot of the senior guys at al-Qaida who were responsible for that attack on 9/11. I`d do it again in a minute." He also said, “President George W. Bush knew the CIA interrogation and approved it.”
