Restoration nearing completion

The restoration work for the traditional Korean gate Sungnyemun, also known as Namdaemun, is scheduled for completion late this month. One of the four main gates in the fortress wall of Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty, the gate was severely damaged after an arsonist set fire to it in February 2008. On Thursday, workers remove the fence screen surrounding the gate`s construction site in downtown Seoul. The roof of the gate is seen through temporary structures.
