Kissing a pro-democracy icon

President Barack Obama, the first incumbent U.S. head of state to visit Myanmar, on Monday kisses Aung San Suu Kyi, the longtime symbol of Myanmar’s democratization movement, before giving a speech at her residence. He pledged support to the Thein Sein government’s efforts to democratize and reform the Southeast Asian country in announcing support plans for Myanmar.
