60 countries helped S.Korea in Korean War: Defense Ministry

The Defense Ministry said Monday that some 60 countries helped South Korea in the Korean War, not 41 as previously believed.

The ministry plans to announce this in a forum on a study of assistance for the war Thursday.

A military source said, “We`ve studied data collected from the U.S. National Archives since 2010 the U.N. and countries that helped South Korea under a project to recount the number of countries that helped (South) Korea. We concluded that some 60 countries helped us.”
