○ PMC Production, the production company of Nanta (Cookin), a renowned non-verbal performance using kitchen utensils, donated 100 million won (88,968 U.S. dollars) to Japanese affected by the earthquake to the Korea National Red Cross. The company said the donation is part of efforts to repay the support Japanese audiences have shown for the show.
○ Singer and actor Kim Dong-wan has donated 20 million won (17,790 dollars) to the Korea National Red Cross. He also participated in a charity project for Japan with other Korean stars popular in Japan, including Lee Jeong-jin and Yoon Sang-hyun.
○ Doosan Group said it donated 700 million won (622,280 dollars) to the Korea National Red Cross. Apart from this, Doosan Infracore will provide construction equipment including excavators and drivers and construction equipment services needed for restoration efforts. Some 5,000 employees of Doosan Infracore, a company which has frequent interaction with Japan in machine tools, will also make donations.
○ Korea Yakult will donate 200 million won (177,940 dollars) for relief efforts in Japan. The donation was raised by an internal volunteer group of the company and will be delivered to Japan via the Korea National Red Cross.
○ Snack maker Orion said it donated snacks worth 50 million won (44,480 dollars) to shelters for the displaced in Sendais Wakabayashi district in Miyagi Prefecture.
○ The Korean ENT Doctors Association will raise 10 million won (8,900 dollars) to donate to Community Chest of Korea for relief efforts in Japan.
○ Korea Diakonia, a Protestant volunteer group alliance, gave 3.3 million yen (40,675 dollars) to religious bodies in Japan when staff visited Japan March 17-19. The Rev. Kim Jong-sang and other members held talks with representatives of major Japanese Christian groups such as the National Council of Churches in Japan, United Church of Christ in Japan, the Council of Korean Churches in Japan, Church of Christ in Japan, and the Christian Alliance of Social Work in Japan on cooperation.
