President Lee Myung-bak Tuesday talks with former U.S. President Jimmy Carter(left) at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae in Seoul. Carter came to Korea to give the lecture A Nuclear-armed North Korea and Peace on the Korean Peninsula at the invitation of the Inchon Memorial Foundation, Korea University and The Dong-A Ilbo. He normalized U.S. relations with China as president and after retirement, he held talks with the late North Korean leader Kim Il Sung, participating in the behind-the-doors negotiations over North Koreas nuclear program. Carter won the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to find peaceful solutions to global conflicts.
